CPD Opportunities

[c]

Did you know? From September 2007, teachers in the lifelong learning sector will have to complete 30 hours of CPD per annum. Our courses could count towards some of that total!

Training at the Essential Skills Resource Centre

The Centre runs a range of short, skills-based courses for Skills for Life teachers and support staff. Sessions are usually half-day and take place in the Centre for Lifelong Learning, Westwood Campus. Sessions range from non-accrediated subject specific training (e.g. Differentiation in ESOL teaching) and general pedagogical skills training (e.g. Creative Approaches for Groups) to accredited programmes offered by external trainers (e.g. Adult Dyslexia Diagnosis and Support). See the right hand column for an illustrative list of the kinds of non-accrediated courses we offer and the training sessions which are currently available at the Centre.

  • Approaches to Skills for Life for Vocational Tutors
  • Improving the Review and Feedback Process
  • Improving your Organisational Materials
  • ESOL Access for All
  • Teaching Strategies for Learners on the Autistic Spectrum
