Good news for people completing DTLLS
The Lingfield Report which recommends the revocation of the 2007 regulations on teaching qualifications has caused a lot of confusion and uncertainty for people currently taking DTLLS and hoping to go on to QTLS.
The West Midlands Institute for Learning (IfL) adviser Anne Schofield has established that the October/September window for those wishing to express interest in QTLS will be open as usual, which is good news for those completing their DTLLS this summer.
People going to that slot would need to submit their complete applications by the end of February 2013.
Anne is available to visit organisations to advise on this process, or offer 1:1 phone/email support, and can be contacted on ifl.adviser@warwick.ac.uk .
There is more information from the IfL available here .

West Midlands Regional Development Manager provides support
The nine LSIS Regional Development Managers (RDMs) arrived in spring 2010, partly to support the Improvement Adviser Service (IAS) and also to work with organisations seeking to develop a ‘whole organisation approach’ to their quality improvement planning.

Sue Blake is the RDM for the West Midlands, and she produces a regular update on the latest sources of help and funding from LSIS. You can read her latest bulletin here , and more about her role and the services she is able to provide here.
