Development of an Early Warning Predictive Model for Footrot in Sheep

I am a PhD student in the Midlands Integrative Biosciences Training Partnership (MIBTP) program funded by the BBSRC. My home institute is the University of Warwick, where I will be working to develop a model of the spread of ovine footrot within the UK.

I studied for my first degree, a BS in Animal Sciences, at Colorado State University where I graduated in 2006 with honours. Following this, I trained as a veterinarian at the University of Glasgow and graduated in 2011 with commendation. I then earned a position as a clinical training scholar in large animal medicine within the Scottish Centre for Production Animal Health and Food Safety, where I worked for 2 years.

In 2013, I left clinical practice and turned my skills to research, where I worked on a project to design and test a lameness control plan for sheep flocks. This led to the development of my PhD thesis, in collaboration with my lead supervisor, Prof. Laura Green.
