Integrating structural and functional connectivity networks in sleep and epilepsy

Soroosh is developing methods for the characterisation and integration of structural and functional brain networks. This will involve the acquisition of structural MRI and EEG-fMRI data in resting state conditions, during sleep, and in patients with epilepsy. These data will be used to define networks involved in the generation of thalamo-cortically generated electrophysiological activity (alpha rhythm, sleep transients, spike and wave discharges). This will support the understanding of how structure underlies and constrains function, and how multiple coexisting networks interact.
