The Junior Commissioners at Warwick
The Warwick Junior Commissioners presented their Energy 2025 recommendations to Academics and guests at the University of Warwick on Friday 30 March 2012. The briefing marked the end of a final week of collaboration at the University and is the culmination of 8 months of research on Energy use which began with a study trip to New York last November.
The Commission members outlined the key points from their Energy 2025 report at the presentation which the group will publicly release in June 2012 and answered questions from attendees and other guests.
Coventry, Warwickshire and Africa Maths Advocate joins IGGY as Academic Principal
Dr Adam Boddison, a passionate advocate of mathematics, who has led programmes to promote the teaching of Mathematics in Coventry, Warwickshire and Africa, has been given a global platform as he has just been appointed the Academic Principal of IGGY. Dr Boddison is a graduate of the University of Warwick (all three of his degrees were awarded by Warwick) and he also served as a mathematics teacher at Coventry’s Finham Park School.
Litro & IGGY International Young Person's Short Story Award 2012
IGGY is running an international short story writing competition in 2012 in association with the prestigious literary magazine Litro. The initiative aims to showcase creative writing from young people aged between 11 and 19. In addition to a cash prize of £2,500 the winner will be published in the free short story and poetry magazine Litro and will see excerpts of their work displayed on a poster in a London Underground station.
