IGGY Juniors: What the students say
I have learned a lot from this course, not only about myself, but about how to deal with situations. I now feel as though I am a much more confident person and I feel like NOTHING can bring me down. I also think that I can stand up to anyone, for myself or for someone else. I just have to be strong.
I have learnt that confidence comes to you if you believe, if you are strong and if you are positive. I know that if I think positively then I can achieve anything. I have to have confidence in myself. I think that I have really found out what confidence is since doing this course. I feel bolder and much better about myself. Bethany (Course: Don't Worry Be Happy)

Each day we looked at a different area of philosophy which really made me think. Each evening the debate related to what we had looked at in the day and this was a great way to safely chat with other people on the course. On this course I liked the daily feedback from the teachers which was helpful for the next day. I think that by doing this course I have learnt how to think about thinking and the debating taught me how to consider other peoples opinions and that there is no right or wrong answer in philosophy.
I am looking forward to the next course. Geoffrey (Course: Introduction to Philosophy)

The skills I have improved the most are, I am a lot better at analysing books and I have got a lot better at writing essays. The course included many things like assignments, discussions, quizzes and votes. All these activities were brilliantly fun ( they did make my brain ache though)! My favourite type of activity was the discussions because I like chatting and we could help each other and give each other ideas, the questions in the discussions were also quite challenging which made it more fun! I have thoroughly enjoyed the course, and have decided to consider philosophy as a future study. I find philosophy a very interesting subject, as I am keen to express my opinion on such matters. It has enabled me to push myself and achieve marks that I am proud of!
I am very glad that I did the course, and I don't think there is anything wrong with the course itself. I am very proud of what I have achieved over four days. I hope to learn more about philosophy in the future. Rosy (Course: Questions! Questions! Questions! An Introduction to Philosophy)

I think I have improved my ability to analyse critically. I have learned about various important scientists and some of their quite complex ideas. I have also learned how to approach a piece of science writing. I thought the tutors and mentors were very encouraging . Andrew (Course: Is There Anybody Out There? Philosophy and asking questions is big interest of mine and this course has really improved my understanding of it, introducing me to new concepts such as Metaphysics. One of my favorite parts of this course was debating 'against myself'. Debating against my opinion really confused me and made me wonder what my actual opinion was. From sitting on one side I climbed back onto the fence; my mind battling with itself. It made me question my own view and added a new element into the debate. I thoroughly enjoy the activity! In conclusion course has both enlightened and confused me in a brilliant dazzling time full of philosophy. I've really enjoyed working with everyone on this course and definitely consider it a success. As always you ask for any improvements that good be made, and as always I struggle trying to find one. I am really pleased that I signed up for this course! It has been lots of fun and I feel that I have benefited from it a lot. First of all, now I have several different viewpoints that before, so debating with other kids has helped. I think that my debating skills have improved and also my philosophical thinking. I have learnt that asking lots of questions and disagreeing with people sometimes isn't rude - it is how philosophers think. I have really enjoyed this course and I'll be looking to do more. I think this course was fantastic! Not only was it fun, but it developed my philosophy skills, my debating skills, my thinking and my typing skills. Before this course, I didn't know anything about philosophy [I don't think I had even heard of it!] Now I know much more about philosophy. I would definitely reccomend this course to people interested in the world. Linnie (Course: Questions! Questions! Questions! An Introduction to Philosophy)

Thank you so much for letting me take part in this course as it has been super. The assignments were really challenging. I liked getting up every morning and looking forward to a new project. I am not sure I have a favorite because they all made me think and I think I did well on them all. I also really enjoyed the evening debates. Overall it was a fantastic course. I think Louis was a super new tutor as he kept the discussions going and made me think a lot. I will have to give my brain a rest as it was very challenging dipping in and out of discussions but is was a great experience. Thank you again. Makenzie (Course: Questions! Questions! Questions!
