What does a Junior Commissioner do?
What does being a Junior Commissioner mean?
Junior Commissioners are specially selected IGGY members who work with each other and academics to tackle some of the biggest issues facing society today.
Being a Commissioner means you will have the chance to contribute a unique voice to policy debates. Your views and thoughts will be brought to a global audience and you will have made a difference to the world in which we live.
What does a Junior Commissioner do?
The Junior Commissioners work together on a extensive research project where they themselves define the scope, questions and output of their research. IGGY will appoint specially selected academics and mentors to help the Commissioners with their work.
Junior Commissioners will:
- Work collaboratively in an international student environment, guided by mentors and leading academics
- Have the chance to meet up with each other both online and face-to-face
- Create blogs over their time working on the Commission
- Create a tangible output and be involved in presenting their findings to a global audience
We hope to be able to secure funding to facilitate international travel for our Commissioners, and are currently in active discussions with potential partners.
