If you require a status letter to use for immigration purposes (except travelling overseas or applying for indefinite leave to remain) you should complete the form below.
(Please note that if you are applying for a Tier 4 visa or Tier 4 visa extension, you no longer require a status letter because the CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies) has replaced the status letter).
Status letters for Schengen visas and general purposes should be requested from the student reception desk on the ground floor of Senate House. These can be prepared while you wait. There is no need to contact the Office for Global Engagement about one of these. If you are on a distance learning MBA course (including the Executive MBA) and require a letter in support of your application for a General Visitor Visa to attend Graduation Ceremony, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org and they will be able to produce the letter for you.
Letters should be ready for collection from 2.30pm five working days following the request from the Office for Global Engagement Reception. You will be contacted by email as soon as your letter is ready to collect. If you have requested us to post the letter to you, you should also allow time for the document to be delivered. As no charge is made for this service, we will always use second class post to local addresses in the UK and first class post to other areas. Standard airmail will be used for the rest of the world. Please do not ask us to post a letter by courier or expect a tracking number.
We aim to process all requests within 5 working days. If we are unable to do so, because of the need for further information, we will email you to inform you about what we need to find out, using the email address on your form.
