Postgraduate Open Day 2013
The Postgraduate Open Day will take place on the 27th November 2013.
The Postgraduate Open Day gives you the chance to have indepth conversations with academics and students from the department in which you’d like to study. You’ll have the chance to take a campus tour and find out about Warwick’s beautiful surroundings and world-leading facilities. We’re also offering a set of talks to help you find out what you can study, how you can fund it, how to apply and where a PG degree might lead you in the future. We look forward to meeting you! Here's some useful information about the day:
BEFORE THE OPEN DAY
If you can't make it to the Open Day, find out where else you can come and meet us as we head out on the road!
ON THE DAY
Don't forget to... jot down all the questions you want to ask on the back of the downloadable booklet so you remember to get all the information you need.
AFTER THE OPEN DAY
IN THE MEANTIME
You might be used to giving feedback after events, but here at Warwick we like to do things differently.
We'd like you to feed forward, letting us know what you'd like to see at the Postgraduate Open Day before the event takes place. Check out what we've done so far this year, then simply tweet your Feed Forward @WarwickPostgrad using #FeedForward2013, email your Feed Forward to firstname.lastname@example.org or complete the form. We look forward to hearing from you -- and if you also register your attendance at the Open Day, we'll enter you into a prize draw for an Amazon Kindle!
Thank you for all your great ideas. We're working on them now. Have a look at some of our responses to the 2013 Feed Forward campaign, and book your place on the Open Day now!
You Said, We Did...
(Results from the Feed Forward 2013 Campaign)
1. You said you wanted to know about every step in the application process.
We're offering drop-in sessions with the Postgraduate Admissions Team so that you can see exactly what the application process is like.
2. You said you wanted to find out all the details on funding opportunities for your course.
We're offering a funding talk as well as a Funding and Scholarships workshop just for prospective research students. There's also a dedicated space in the Study Fair for you to meet the people from the Graduate School who can answer all your questions. The Students' Union's Postgraduate Sabbatical Officer will also be on hand at the Study Fair to talk about the support the SU can offer in terms of funding and other issues.
3. You said you wanted to hear what it's like to be a student at Warwick from real current students.
We've made it possible for you to meet current students at the Study Fair. What's more, the majority of staff supporting the event are student ambassadors who will be delighted to answer your questions.
4. You said you wanted to see what each academic department is like and see the facilities for yourself.
We’re offering a comprehensive programme of events hosted by departments from 14:00 onwards, and nearly all departments will be represented by staff and students at the Study Exhibition. You'll also be able to take a tour of the campus and our postgraduate-specific facilities, which will be led by a Postgraduate Ambassador.
