Chemistry

Warwick offers contemporary Chemistry courses, taught by research-active staff in a thriving and friendly department. Our courses provide the foundation for a wide range of careers spanning chemisty, biology, medicine, management and marketing. Our undergraduate teaching laboratories are equipped to current pharmaceutical industry research standard and each student has an individual fume-cupboard available for their practical work.

Example modules

Mathematics and Physics for Chemists

This module provides the mathematical and physics learning support for the Year 1 modules. These skills taught allow students to understand the concepts behind much of chemistry. The maths modules are mainly algebra and calculus, the physics modules involving mechanical and electromagnetic concepts and waves.

Understanding Organic Synthesis

This module consolidates existing knowledge of organic chemical transformations, and shows how the shape of molecules influences their chemical
reactivity. It shows how stereochemistry is important in understanding how molecules interact with, or are part of, biological systems.

Students can find further information on the wide range of modules available, as well as details of examinations for all levels online.

This department accepts Exchange students from Chemistry Exchange Partner Universities only.

This Department will only accept Erasmus students for Spring & Summer term.
