The best thing about Warwick is the opportunity to get a first class education.

MA Public Administration (MPA)
I did my Undergraduate degree in Jamaica followed by some professional studies in the US and had been working in the private sector before coming over to study for my MPA in the UK. I actually first found out about Warwick after doing an internet search for a job on the World Bank website. The careers that I was interested in required an MPA or a Masters in Public Policy or Public Management, so I then started searching for somewhere to study one of these. I looked at courses in the UK, Canada and the US, but ultimately chose Warwick because of its good reputation and position in the rankings. The Warwick MPA exactly fit the bill of what I was looking for and was more cost-efficient than some of the programmes in other countries as I was able to complete it in one year. I was also very happy to be awarded a Rotary Foundation scholarship to fund my studies. When I contacted the department for more information, they were extremely helpful and outlined everything I needed to do to apply. It was the most straightforward and efficient of all of the applications I completed. The University of Warwick’s reputation here in the UK is excellent. Friends from Jamaica living in the UK were very impressed when I told them I’d been accepted to study at Warwick. When I arrived Iwas really impressed by the campus. I love studying in this environment it’s beautiful. I’ve also been really impressed with the facilities here. The information available and assistance offered to students is phenomenal. For example, I visited the Library to enquire about a book I was interested in and they didn’t have it. The staff were really helpful and ordered me a copy. Within a week, they had bought the book and I was able to read it. You can really see and feel the effort that the staff put in to the teaching and learning process. I’d say the best thing about Warwick is the opportunity to get a first class education. All of the modules I have studied on the MPA have been useful, relevant and interesting and I hope that this programme will help to facilitate the change in career direction that I am looking for, whether this be in a multilateral organisation or through starting my own business.
