Chemistry"The thing I like most about Chemistry at Warwick, is the lab work which is intellectually stimulating. I also like the ability to get most of my work done in the day, leaving me time to enhance my degree with all the other opportunities Warwick offers." Classics and Ancient History"I was attracted to Classics at Warwick by the sheer diversity of topics that could be explored. I’ve studied history, literature, art, medicine, and that has barely tapped the surface of what the Department has to offer." Comparative American Studies"CAS is a stimulating degree thanks to its interdisciplinary nature, passionate academics and the year broad. I spent a year in Buenos Aires where I polished my Spanish and interned at a Ministry." Computer Science"I once had to complete a “Group Software Development” module, sponsored by Deutsche Bank. That’s the kind of experience which really helps when you’re looking for your first job." Economics"Studying at Warwick is a brilliant experience. The connections between departments are fantastic, allowing you to take optional modules in subjects that may seem completely unrelated; in my first year, I undertook a psychology module!" Institute of Education"Childhood, Education and Society at Warwick is multidisciplinary, and extremely vibrant in its content. I am very involved in my departmental committees...I feel that my voice is heard at Warwick, and my view is counted." Engineering"One of the best aspects of Warwick’s Engineering course is that it allows us to become multidisciplinary – you are not tied to an Engineering stream right from the beginning. I have learnt about parts of electrical, mechanical, civil and manufacturing engineering, as well as business and even Arabic!" English and Comparative Literary Studies"I’m about to embark on a ‘creative project’ for my Shakespeare module, and instead of just writing an essay, I’m planning to abridge one of Shakespeare’s plays and make it into a radio drama." Film and Television Studies"The Film Studies course is about much more than just watching films. It has provided me with wide knowledge of the history and technology of cinema, as well as introducing theories and intellectual debate surrounding the medium." French Studies"I researched bilingual courses at several institutions but I decided to study French at Warwick because it gave me more freedom to tailor the course to my personal interests." German Studies"German is an amazingly flexible course; you can combine it with all sorts of other interesting subjects including other languages, such as French and Italian, or other arts courses, such as History." History"I had always wanted to study history and I fell in love with Warwick when I came to visit on an open day. I am now in my final year at Warwick, not quite sure how time went by this quickly! I take solace from the knowledge that I have made the absolute most of my time here." History of Art"History of Art at Warwick is unique in the sense that in the third year you can specialise in contemporary art, or spend the autumn term resident in Venice. The Department offers a wide range of modules which allowed me to tailor my degree to my own interests." Italian Studies"Studying at Warwick has given me the perfect university experience. Having the opportunity to meet and converse with people from across the globe has enhanced my university experience academically and personally." Law"Warwick Law School is highly regarded and as a result, the world’s best Law Firms frequently visit to hold skills workshops and presentations to help us when applying for jobs." Life Sciences"As a Biomedical Sciences student, I am really enjoying learning about different aspects of biology from microbiology and research, to human physiology." Mathematics"My favourite aspect of the course is the flexibility in choosing modules. There is a huge choice of maths modules, and also additional areas of study outside the subject. In the 3rd and 4th years I have 100% choice in the modules I take from a wide range of mathematical fields." Medicine"What attracted me to WMS was the all-graduate entry and well‑structured course, blending lectures with small group sessions. I really enjoy working with graduates as everyone brings different ideas and skills to the programme." MORSE"MORSE is an ideal course for those who want to acquire deep knowledge not only in one or two areas, but four! It is very intensive in terms of workload, but it is more than worth it because MORSE graduates are highly employable in almost all sectors of the economy." Philosophy"I was attracted to Warwick by the chance to study Philosophy and Mathematics. I get the best of two superb departments and my course structure gives me a huge amount of independence." Physics"I chose Warwick to study physics for a number of reasons. The University as a whole ranks highly, and so too does the Physics Department. My main reason, however, was the varied course and the option to choose modules outside the core compulsory modules, which puts me in control of my own learning." Politics and International Studies"PAIS has provided an intellectually stimulating course which allowed me to discover areas of the discipline I hadn’t encountered before university and then take these interests further." Philosophy, Politics and Economics"PPE is one of the most challenging and rewarding courses at Warwick. I didn’t want to narrow my studies to one subject, therefore the PPE degree was perfect for me." Psychology"The BSc in Psychology has a superb integration of biology and statistics, in addition to friendly and enthusiastic lecturers, who are always ready to offer support and guidance." Sociology"Sociology at Warwick is simply incredible. The course structure allows students to tailor their interests to their degree and that was certainly one of the greatest appeals when deciding where to study." Statistics"Maths and Stats at Warwick is a very enjoyable course and really flexible in terms of the modules I get to study. Around two thirds of the course modules are compulsory but I can choose the rest from a long list of different modules from several departments." Theatre, Performance and Cultural Policy Studies"Theatre at Warwick stretches beyond the degree. I am an exec member of three theatre societies and have produced 14 plays, taken one production to the Edinburgh Festival and co-ordinated a writing festival." Warwick Business School"I chose Warwick as it has one of the top business schools in Europe, with a good global reputation and excellent graduate employment prospects." |
