Our Campus

campus 2

You only have to set foot on our campus to sense that it’s buzzing with activity – from the award-winning Warwick Arts Centre and our busy Students’ Union to our great sports facilities and lively events, there’s so much to experience that your only challenge is finding the time to fit it all in.

Our campus is home to students and staff from all over the world. It’s this inclusive and cosmopolitan atmosphere that gives Warwick its vibrancy and characteristic ‘buzz’. You’ll enjoy the freedom to be independent but with the security of knowing you’re surrounded by people who can support you and share your experience. And with everything you need close at hand you can get on with enjoying student life, both inside and outside the lecture theatre.

The campus is like a small city but we have countryside as well. There is a lake, a path in the woods, and quite a lot of greenery, and these parts of campus shape up brilliantly for those Instagram or Snapchat posts.

Entertainment and Nightlife

Whatever the time of day, there’s something for everyone, whether you’re looking to take advantage of our Student Union’s packed events programme or just want to relax with friends:

  • Enjoy a big night out – SU nightclub The Copper Rooms and the Terrace Bar host regular club nights. You can enjoy retro classics at Pop! and School Dayz and the latest in house music at Mixology. Get Funked brings you the best soul, funk and urban beats, and Crash delivers a thumping mix of rock, metal, punk and ska.
  • Tune in – Keen to share your musical talents? Why not show what you’re made of at karaoke or an open-mic night. If you’d rather listen, you can take in live acoustic music at the Dirty Duck pub or chill at the late-afternoon Coffee House Sessions, held at our vintage tea shop Curiositea. These feature some of the most exciting up-and-coming acoustic talent from around the country.
  • Grab the popcorn – For film fans, head to the cinema at Warwick Arts Centre or join Warwick Student Cinema society, which screens around 150 films per year.
  • Soak up the atmosphere – Benefactors Place and the Piazza are outdoor spaces that provide the perfect setting for events including cultural celebrations, artistic displays and performances. It’s also home to our Big Screen, which shows films, theatrical performances and major sporting events throughout the year

Food and Drink

While you’re likely to arrive with a few student recipe books, there are plenty of places on campus to grab a bite to eat when you don’t fancy cooking, including coffee shops, a bar, a pub, sandwich bars, and canteen and bistro-style restaurants. Or you can just stock up on supplies at our campus convenience store.

There are also regular food markets in the Piazza, where you can sample cosmopolitan treats such as Thai street food, local jams and cheeses, freshly-cooked samosas and speciality breads.

The Eating at Warwick scheme enables you to preload your student card with money and gives you up to 10% discount on food and drink at various outlets across campus. Find out more about eating and drinking at Warwick via Warwick Retail.

Spiritual Life

The Chaplaincy is the focus of spiritual life on campus if you have faith, are seeking faith, or you are searching for a safe place to ask questions. You may visit to meet with friends or to find solitude in the midst of a busy term. Chaplains come from the Christian (Catholic, Anglican and Free Church), Jewish and Muslim faiths.

There are regular services for all Christian denominations, five daily congregational Islamic prayers, and Jewish students can meet for the Shabbat meal on Fridays. Our Islamic prayer hall provides prayer spaces for men and women, a halal kitchen, ablution facilities and a library. The Chaplaincy also organises a number of trips and retreats throughout the year.

Everyday essentials

We recommend that you register with the Health Centre when you arrive at Warwick. Situated close to the SU, it’s open throughout the year and provides a range of NHS services, delivered by male and female GPs as well as nursing staff. You’ll also find a travel agent, pharmacy, banks and bookshop on campus, so you can stay on top of day-to-day tasks.

Finding a balance

While there’s plenty on campus to keep you busy, there are also more peaceful spots just a few minutes’ walk from central campus, where you can enjoy walks around our lakes and green spaces. For a faster way to get around campus, why not hire one of Warwick’s own bikes, either on a subscription or pay-as-you-go basis.
