Transport and Travel

[c]

The University of Warwick campus is located three miles to the south west of Coventry, making it closer to Coventry than to Warwick. It's central location in the Midlands means that it has excellent transport links with the rest of the UK and beyond. The transport infrastructure on campus and around the local area is both accessible and reliable whether you need to catch a local bus to the shops or a long haul flight from Birmingham International Airport.

All University properties are within easy reach of bus stops and there are frequent buses to campus to and from Coventry, Kenilworth and Leamington Spa. You can buy a term’s bus pass on campus at the beginning of term. The Students’ Union runs night buses from campus after late running events.

By Road

There are three motorways nearby; the M42, M40 and M6. The M6 joins to the M1 and provides a quick route to London and the South or you could choose the more scenic journey of the M40. Travelling to the North has also been made easier since the opening of the M6 toll road. Find out more about visiting the university by road.

There are plenty of car parks on campus, however we ask students who are allocated University accommodation not to bring their cars with them - we don’t want campus to end up simply as one huge car park. We have a limited number of parking spaces for resident students who need to have a car with them for medical, academic or compassionate reasons.

Around Campus

By Bus

Getting around the local area is simple and easy with regular bus services that run every ten minutes at peak times. There are a number of bus stops on campus with buses running to Kenilworth, Coventry, Leamington Spa and further afield.

There are two local operators: Stagecoach and Travel Coventry (part of Travel West Midlands). Both operators offer special discounts for University of Warwick Students and more details can be found on their websites as well as information about timetables. Stagecoach offer special discount bus passes for Warwick University students, known as the Unirider pass. They have recently painted their buses pink - so they should be hard to miss!

The Online Visitor Centre on the University website contains the most up to date information on getting to the University by bus and details of timetables and other routes can be obtained from University House reception.

By Train

Travelling further afield is also easy with Coventry Train Station just a 10-15 minute bus journey away and Birmingham International Train Station just half an hour away from campus. Detailed travel information and timetables can be found at National Rail (journey planner).
