How many people can I take with me into a session?
When booking your place on the Open Day you must state how many people are attending the event. However, when booking your actual sessions you can only book a place for a maximum of 2 people (to include you and one guest). This is to allow as many prospective students as possible into every session. There are plenty of other things for members of your group who are not attending the session to do, e.g. attend the session for ‘Parents and Supporters’, visiting eating outlets, viewing accommodation, campus tour. However, on the day, should extra seats in your session become available a member of staff within that building will let you know.

How long do sessions last?
Sessions are scheduled throughout the day. The majority of sessions last approximately half an hour to an hour. We try to slot the most popular sessions in both the morning and afternoon to give you a better chance of booking the sessions you want to attend.
Talks are scheduled throughout the day in 45 minute intervals (9.45am, 10.30am, 11.15am, 12noon, 12.45pm, 1.30pm, 2.15pm and 3.00pm). All talks last approximately 30 minutes which allows you 15 minutes to move between talks.
Can I attend more than one subject session?
Yes. We advise that you book any subject-specific session first (as these are likely to be the main reason for your visit) and fit your other activities around this. So that you have enough time to fit in activities such as tours and visiting accommodation, we recommend that you limit your other pre-booked sessions to a maximum of 3-4, although what you choose to do will of course be individual to you!
What time does the Warwick Open Day start and finish?
The Warwick Open Day starts at 10am and finishes at 4pm. The length of time you wish to spend at the event is up to you.
What do I need to bring with me on the day?
You will need to print your confirmation email and bring this with you to obtain entry to the day and to your pre-booked sessions. You will also need your parking permit (either for Park & Ride or on-campus parking).
Don't forget to bring off and bring any parking permits and travel information with you.
You may wish to bring your open day programme if you have printed this off. The full, printed version will be available on the day but bringing your own copy will make it easier for you.
Can I see inside the Student Accommodation at the Warwick Open Day?
Yes, a selection of our accommodation will be open for you to drop-in at any point on the day. You will have the opportunity to see some of the range of accommodation types available from en-suite to shared facilities. Please note that accommodation viewing is very popular so you may need to leave extra time for queues.
I or a member of my party has a disability. Is there anything I need to do?
If you have any special requirements make sure you state this on your booking form. We will then contact you prior to the Open Day to make sure we have everything in place for you on the day. Disabled parking will be made available on campus.
Can I go on a campus tour on the Warwick Open Day?
Yes, we offer campus tours throughout the day so you can select whatever time suits your schedule for the day. Tours are led by our Student Ambassadors and last approximately 45 minutes. You will be introduced to some of the campus facilities, departments and social buildings. Tickets will available all day from the Tours Marquee - more information about these will be detailed in your downloadable Open Day timetable once you have booked.
Will we get to meet any current students? How will I recognise them?
Yes, our Student Ambassadors can be seen around the University on the Open Day to offer you help in finding your way or to just answer any general questions you may have. You won't be able to miss our Student Ambassadors as they are dressed in bright yellow t-shirts! As well as conducting our campus tours and seeing students around campus, there is a chance to talk to current students at our 'meet the students' session from 2.00pm-4.00pm in the Warwick Digital Lab.
Are all of the departments taking part in the Warwick Open Day?
Timetabled sessions are the only way to interact with departments so you will need to check the timetable for what your department offers and the timings of sessions can vary from talks, drop-ins to talk to staff or students or tours of facilities.
Can I stay overnight?
Discounted bed and breakfast rates will be available to Open Day visitors staying overnight on Friday 11th May 2012 at our on-campus conference centres. This can only be booked after you have completed your booking for the Open Day, and you will be provided a code on your Open Day booking receipt which you will be asked to quote when booking your accommodation to allow you to receive the discounted rate. The luxury, en-suite rooms are equipped with high speed internet access, a spacious desk area, tea and coffee making facilities, television, radio alarm clock, hairdryer, refrigerator, iron, trouser press, towels and toiletries.
More information on how to book this accommodation will be provided in the booking confirmation you receive once booked onto the day itself.

There are several eating outlets on campus serving a range of food from light snacks and hot sandwiches to bistro-style meals, cakes and pastries and coffee. A list of venues and their opening times for the Open Day is on the back page of the Open Day timetable.
The University was the first institution of its kind to achieve Food for the Brain accreditation at its food and drink outlets, a scheme designed to promote awareness of the link between learning, behaviour, mental health and nutrition. Healthy options are clearly marked on menus.
For more information on each establishment and opening times please refer to the Planning Your Visit pages.
Are pets allowed?
Pets other than guide dogs are not allowed into the buildings and lecture theatres.
According to the Residential Accommodation Regulations, unfortunately, no pets or any other animals may be kept in any University residential accommodation.
