WBS Launches New MSc in Accounting & Finance

wbsBuilding on the success of its prestigious BSc in Accounting & Finance, Warwick Business School (WBS) is launching a long-awaited Masters in Accounting & Finance, to commence in September 2011.

The new Masters course, open to those with an excellent, relevant first degree, will complement the three existing Finance and Finance-related Masters courses at WBS.

Dr Elisabeth Dedman, Associate Professor in the Accounting Group and Academic Director of the new course, explains the reasons for launching it, "Recent events have revealed the need for a new breed of financiers who think more critically and who are prepared to challenge theories. We have therefore designed a course which combines the traditional technical requirements for a career in accounting or finance whilst developing the critical thinking required of the next generation of finance professionals."

For a successful financial career, a mastery of theory and techniques is crucial. But, as recent events have demonstrated, this is not enough. Our new MSc in Accounting & Finance gives the opportunity to acquire the rigorous knowledge essential for a top-flight career. Gain a deeper understanding by exploring how accounting and reporting decisions taken affect markets and companies, as well as studying accounting in its wider social context. Learn how to get the edge; how to challenge the theory; how to think beyond conventional wisdom.

WBS already deliver the UK's top rated BSc in Accounting & Finance. Number 1 in the 2011 editions of the Complete University Guide, the Times Good University Guide, and the Guardian University Guide.
