Coventry Community Cohesion Awards 2016

Coventry held its sixth cohesion awards earlier this month with fourteen organisations shortlisted in seven categories.

Dozens of organisations entered the awards which have become a regular feature on the city’s calendar.

The awards celebrate projects which build upon the city’s heritage as a city of peace and reconciliation. The awards highlight examples of good community relations recognising what local people have done for Coventry to remain a cohesive city.

Cllr Abdul Khan, Deputy Leader of the Council, said: “I’m proud to be involved in the cohesion awards. We have a rich and varied list of entrants.

It reflects the work being achieved at a grassroots level and they all fully deserve to receive the recognition.”

A new award in this year’s awards is promoting positive ageing award, this recognises the contribution that older people make to community life.

The Coventry Cohesion Awards is organised by the Partnership for Coventry
