Julie Meyer MBE is an American businesswoman, entrepreneur and author. She is the founder and CEO of Ariadne Capital, a venture capital firm, and is a Managing Partner at the Ariadne Capital Entrepreneurs (ACE) Fund, Ariadne Ecosystem Economics™ Fund and is founder of EntrepreneurCountry.
Julie obtained her MBA in 1997 at INSEAD, the leading European business school where she now sits on the Board of Directors and was named one of their top 50 alumni. She built the first social network for Internet entrepreneurs in 1998-2000, First Tuesday, which she sold for $50 million in July 2000, and many credited with igniting the Internet generation in Europe.
Julie was the co-founder of the networking club First Tuesday (1998-2000). In 2009, she appeared as a Dragon on the online version of BBC’s Dragons' Den. She was awarded an Honorary Doctorate by the University of Warwick in 2014.
Professor Abhinay Muthoo is a Professor of Economics in the Department of Economics at the University of Warwick, and the Co-Director of the Warwick Policy Lab. He was the Head of the Department of Economics at the University of Warwick for 8 years until end July 2016, when he took over as the Dean of Warwick in London.
Abhinay was educated at the London School of Economics and the University of Cambridge. Abhinay has published papers in many top economics journals including in the Review of Economic Studies, Economic Theory and The Economic Journal.
He is the author of Bargaining Theory with Applications, described as a publication that any economist have as a reference.
Malcolm H. Ross is an independent consultant with 43 years’ experience advising, challenging and coaching C-Level telecom-industry executives. Malcolm is also currently a senior Advisor to Julie Meyer, Founder and CEO of Ariadne Capital. A Physics graduate from Manchester University, his experience includes market entry strategies, boosting competitive position, spectrum acquisition/auctions, transactions and M&A. He is involved in several new ventures and is an experienced coach and challenger. Until July 1999 he was Vice-President in, Arthur D. Little's world-wide Electronics, IT and Telecoms Practice.
Malcolm’s three passions are to catalyse better telecoms to enable everyone everywhere to connect to more value and happiness in life; to systemise the creation of intrinsically viable and valuable new businesses and through his underwater photographs to show how animals and ecosystems can inspire solutions to business problems.
Dr Karl Strobl is Head of Advisory at Ashima FexServ and a professional investor with two decades experience of building and heading successful businesses both in investment banking and asset management, and as an advisor to hedge fund start ups and financial institutions.
He was one of the longest serving members on the dvisional executive committee of Deutsche Bank’s Asset Management division, a firm with assets under management of €600bn. There he served as Global Head of Equity Trading, and built and headed both the Global Structured Products and the Retirement Solutions businesses. Dr Strobl held various positions at ABN Amro Bank (1997 – 2005), including: building and heading the global exotic products trading desk; global head of retail products trading; proprietary trader; and quantitative analyst.
