50 Years of Warwick Enterprise

This year the University of Warwick is celebrating 50 years of entrepreneurship. To mark this milestone and to inspire the next generation of Warwick entrepreneurs, we are asking entrepreneurs, business leaders and Warwick alumni to share some of their expertise and experiences with Warwick students taking their first steps in business. We are creating a student enterprise fund, video bank of entrepreneur’s stories, a network of mentors. International alumni week photo gallery

With a third of Warwick's alumni living outside the UK, we wanted to make sure that you were all equally involved in celebrating Warwick's 50th anniversary, even if you’re not located in the UK. We chose International Alumni Week (13-19 April) to ask you all, wherever you are in the world, to join us in celebrating Warwick's anniversary.

We were delighted with the response with events organised from Baghdad to San Francisco. You can see photos from some of the events here.

50th Anniversary Reunion: Kenya

Around 40 people attended a recent Alumni event in Kenya. The event was organised by newly appointed Alumni Ambassador Soumish.

The group had unanimously agreed that they should focus on 'Health'. The group decided that they would go on a walk in one of the most beautiful and scenic trails in Nairobi, Karura Forest. The place is known for caves (where Mau revolutionaries used to hide), beautiful waterfalls and of course well guided walking and cycling trails. Alumni turned up with their families and friends for the walk, and they had some young enthusiasts too.... as young as 8 months old!

After the walk the group went to Java House, Gigiri for a well earned breakfast!

Soumsih commented about the group:

"We had an overwhelming response from all the Warwick Alumni members here in Kenya. We have more than 100 members in our FB page, almost 50 members in our Whatsapp group in less than a month of officially forming the group. Overall, there is an exciting flow of enthusiasm with people coming up with various ideas on how to make this group a more successful group with a socio-commercial impact."

More information can be found here>>>

Where's Warwick is a student run project where each week a different sports club or society will have ‘Warwick the Bear’ and will choose a location on campus and take ‘Warwick’ to visit it. The society or sports club will then photograph ‘Warwick’ making sure that they don’t give away too many clues as to where the location is.
