Flexible degree structure

The pathway structure on the BA in English Literature provides guided choice within a huge range of modules, enabling you to tailor your degree to your own interests.

Research-led teaching

We received a 95% satisfaction rating for our teaching in the National Student Survey 2013. All our modules are research-led and we work with our students on developing projects & pedagogies connected to our innovative research.


The Warwick Writing Programme

The WWP is home to prize-winning writers and translators, including Maureen Freely, A. L. Kennedy, David Morley, Sarah Moss, and David Vann. Warwick is also home to the Warwick Prize for Writing.

Ranked in the top 10 UK departments for English by the Guardian University Guide (2017) and the Complete University Guide (2017). The most recent QS World University Rankings by Subject (2016) ranked us 22nd in the world and 5th in the UK! We remain 1st for Creative Writing in the Times/Sunday Times league table (2017).


Widening participation

Our Transformations Project trains aspiring English undergraduates students to deliver university-style seminars with local schools and sixth forms.
