PhD in English and Comparative Literary Studies

PhD in Literary Translation Studies (Now based in Warwick Writing Programme, SCAPVC)

PhD in Literary Practice (Now based in Warwick Writing Programme, SCAPVC)

MPhil in English and Comparative Literary Studies

The MPhil is two to three years full-time leading to a dissertation of 60,000 words maximum. You should normally hold (or be about to complete) an MA or equivalent before applying, although applicants with good first degrees will be considered. We recommend you contact the Director of Graduate Studies before starting your application.

MA by Research in English and Comparative Literary Studies

The MA by Research is one year full-time leading to a 40,000 word dissertation. This is a discrete piece of research, prepared by a student with prior MA level research training, working independently under supervision. If you wish to apply for this degree you will need to give reasons why you wish to take the MA by Research, rather than a taught MA programme.

Please note that for most students, including those who plan to go on to PhD study, the taught MA is the appropriate route (not the MA by Research). We recommend you contact the Director of Graduate Studies to discuss your plans before starting your application.
