Outbound Students: During Your Placement

Contact & Monitoring Points

You will be expected to keep in regular contact with your personal tutor throughout your year abroad. You will also receive occassional contact from the member of staff coordinating study abroad. Maintaing contact is essential not only to ensure engagement with study but also to enable us to identify any welfare problems as soon as possible and work to find a solution in a timely manner.
The abroad calendar will have an up to date record of all monitoring points and deadlines.

Monitoring Points

In addition to keeping in touch with the department you will also need to upload forms to your Study Abroad folder at key points throughout the year. The times at which you are required to do this will depend on your arrival date. For example, the Arrival Placement Plan must be submitted within one month of arrival, and so a student on an exchange with Monash University would need to submit there form by the end of August. Students on Erasmus+ Exchanges will also have additional forms to complete. Further details to be found here

  • Arrival placement plan: 30 days after arrival
  • Mid-term placement plan: Jan/Feb
  • Completion placement plan: NO EARLIER than 5 working days before completion

Each of these forms require a signature from both your host institution and from the Film & Television Department. Be sure to allow plenty of time for the documents to be signed before the deadlines
