Undergraduate module outlines

BA in Film and Literature, BA in Film Studies, BA in Film with Television, Joint/Part-time Degree Modules

N.B. All modules are 30 CATs unless specified. You must take at least 120 CATs worth of modules in each year.

In addition:

BA Film and Literature students take two further options from outside the Department (from a selection that includes Naturalism, US Writing and Culture, European Theatre, the European Novel).

BA Film Studies students may take Television History and Criticism (FI 205) or an option outside the Department.

BA Film with Television students may take Silent Cinema (FI 203) or an option outside the Department.

Year Three Modules

In addition:

BA Film and Literature students take three further options (one of these must be a literature option, the other two may include options from within Film and Television Studies, English, or elsewhere). Students may apply to do a dissertation as one of these options. They may combine two 15 CAT modules to make up one option, or four 15 CAT modules to make up two options.

BA Film Studies students take three further options (two of these must be taught within the Department of Film and Television, the other option may be taken within or outside the Department). Students may apply to do a dissertation as one of these options. They may combine two 15 CAT modules to make up one option, or four 15 CAT modules to make up two options.

BA Film with Television Studies students take two further options (within or outside the Department). Students may apply to do a dissertation as one of these options. They may combine two 15 CAT modules to make up one option, or four 15 CAT modules to make up two options.
