The Future of Fashion Studies: A Fashion Network

The Future of Fashion Studies: A Fashion Network

Institute of Advance Study, University of Warwick

Thursday 30 April 2009

This informal meeting is designed to discuss the methodologies and research agendas of the growing area of Fashion Studies and possible future opportunities for collaboration.

Over the last decade Fashion Studies has emerged as an interdisciplinary field of research. It integrates history, film and theatre studies, cultural studies, business studies, curatorship, and sociology and other disciplines within the humanities and social sciences. Notwithstanding its interdisciplinarity, the study of fashion as an academic subject remains weak, particularly in universities.
