Student wins graduate fellowship

The Centre for the History of Medicine is pleased to note that PhD student Dan O'Connor has been awarded a University of Wisconsin-Madison Graduate Fellowship.

For twelve months Dan will work with Dr Judy Houk of the History of Science Department. While at Madison Dan will conduct research on his PhD dissertation, 'Sex Signs: Transsexuality, Writing and the Languages of Male and Female in the UK and US, 1950-2000.'

Dan is absolutely delighted to have been awarded this prestigious Fellowship and is looking forward to forging further links between the Centre for the History of Medicine and the History of Science Department at Madison.

For the duration of his fellowship, Dan will be sending us regular dispatches from Madison, detailing his exploits in the land of dairy cows and lumberjacks.
