Angels in America Project

CAPITAL Centre Project based on AIDS and Identity Politics

This interdisciplinary project provides the opportunity for students from non-theatrical backgrounds departments, including the History of Medicine, to explore Angels in America and contemporary issues surrounding sexual identity and HIV/AIDS.

The project will include:

  • A screening of Tony Kushner's 'Angels in America' (dir. Mike Nichols, 1991-1992) on the Tuesday and Thursday of Week 7 (17th November and 19th November).
  • A performance workshop on disease and identity on Tuesday 1st December (3-5pm), at the CAPITAL Centre (Week 9)
  • Invitation to SHAW World AIDS Day presentation and celebration on Tuesday 1st December, 6pm in the CAPITAL Centre.

Acting experience is not required as the group will take on various roles and design a collaborative project.
