Mother of one (born 2010s), from North-East England

We were going to have a home birth but the baby was very overdue so I was induced in hospital. My husband was there the whole time and was extremely supportive throughout the process. I was in labour for 32 hours and by that point I'd had a epidural and lots of other pain relief as I had excruciating pain in my hips. I was only 4 cm dilated and the doctors decided that I would need a caesarian but as the epidural hadn't worked I was put under general anasthetic. My husband wasn't allowed in the theatre as I was under general but they brought the baby to him almost immediately. He was able to see our little boy alone for a couple of hours while waiting for me to come round and I think he really appreciated that time.
