Professor Maria Luddy

Maria has published extensively on the history of women in nineteenth and twentieth century Ireland. From 1997 to 2001 she acted as Director of the Women's History Project, funded by the Irish Government and based in Dublin (see http://www.nationalarchives.ie/wh). She was co-editor of the Field Day Anthology of Irish Writing: vols. 4 & 5, Irish Women's Writing and Traditions (Cork, 2002). She is currently completing a history of women in Ireland from 1850 to 2000.

Dr Jim MacPherson

Jim is a specialist in Irish women's history, with a particular interest in domestic advice literature from the early part of the twentieth century. Formerly an AHRB Research Fellow at the Centre for North East England History, based at the University of Sunderland, Jim is currently writing a book about Irish women's migration to the north east of England, which reflects on the associational life of women from both Catholic and Protestant backgrounds. Publications include articles in Eire-Ireland and Irish Historical Studies.

Dr Anne Mulhall

Anne researches and teaches in the areas of contemporary Irish literature and culture, particularly writing by women, seventeenth-century literature, and critical theory, with a special interest in feminist and queer theory. She is currently writing a book on the connections between language debates, the transformation of genre and cultural change in the Restoration period. Forthcoming publications include Irish Postmodernism and Popular Culture, co-edited with Moynagh Sullivan and Wanda Balzano (Palgrave, 2006) and articles on queer theory and Irish subcultural production, feminist and queer discourse in Irish cultural criticism, and women and poetry publication in Ireland.
