This programme is now closed and will reopen for applications in October/November 2017. The current programme is currently being revised and restructured and we hope to implement a 2 year cycle for applications. Currently we can only fund Arts Faculty and Philosophy applicants.
The Humanities Research Centre invites applications for the Warwick Transatlantic Fellowships. These Fellowships are intended to deepen and broaden the research links between Warwick and universities in North America. The Fellowships are intended to be short-term, e.g. 2 weeks, though fellows can of course stay longer if they wish. All Fellowships must be taken up during the 2018-2019 academic year and must not extend beyond June 2019. Fellows will be responsible for organising their own travel and accommodation although the Warwick administration can provide support and advice.
In 2017-18 we will be offering 3 Warwick Transatlantic Fellowships to Warwick doctoral students and post-doctoral/early career fellows (up to 5 yrs post PhD) who can make an excellent research case for spending a short period of time at a North American university. It should be more than attendance at a conference or research in an archive. We expect applicants to have made initial approaches to overseas academics before applying and the application should outline what research outcomes are expected. We expect the visit to take place between August 2018 and June 2019 so you will have plenty of time to plan your trip. Fellowships will be worth £1,500 for 2017-18.
One fellowship funded by the HRC is for Arts faculty applicants.
One fellowship, jointly funded by the HRC and the Renaissance Centre is for study at the Newberry Library in Chicago, and applicants should make clear how they intend to make use of the Newberry collections. This is also for Arts faculty applicants.
One fellowship, jointly funded by the HRC and Renaissance Centre is for study at Johns Hopkins. This is also for Arts faculty applicants.
