Summary

Level:

You are a complete beginner, knowing virtually nothing of the language.

Main Objectives:

To develop competence in a range of predictable simple everyday language tasks, providing a very basic knowledge of the structure and vocabulary of the language. The course is ideal for getting started before undertaking a first qualification or for those who just want the confidence to get by abroad.

Teaching:

1 x 2 hour class per week plus some independent learning.

Course Description

Based on a step-by-step approach, the course is divided into learning blocks that focus on practical, useful and manageable language.

Activities will be devised to make sure you understand and can use the language presented during the lessons. You will put new language into practice via games, role-plays, and problem-solving tasks.

Homework tasks will be set at the end of each session.

  • ordering drinks and snacks in a café;
  • looking for shops and finding your way around
  • going shopping , buying food;
  • expressing likes and dislikes;
  • making projects.

Grammar

  • genders;

  • articles;
  • adjectives: agreement and position;
  • prepositions;
  • the negative;
  • present tense : regular verbs and common irregular verbs;
  • use of frequency adverbs such as "depuis"
  • the possessive;
  • asking questions;
  • sentence structure.

Skills

  • listening, speaking, reading and writing.
