I was born and educated in Switzerland and came to England to learn English for six months: and stayed. After gaining a B.A. in Linguistics, I completed the Teaching Foreign Languages to Adults (Cert TFLA) and in 1998 I started teaching at the University of Warwick. I have taught various German modules at different levels in the academic, business and Lifelong Language Learning (LLL) programmes and I am module leader and the coordinator for LLL German.

Whilst working at the University, I completed my M.A. in post- compulsory education, with a dissertation in effective feedback for students, and more recently, I participated in the University’s Technology Enhanced Learning course. In 2017 I achieved a Warwick Award commendation for Teaching Excellence and in 2021 I was nominated again for the Warwick Award for Teaching Excellence.

My personal interests include learning languages: I have taken courses in both Spanish and Italian, knowing that learning foreign languages gives me an appreciation of what it means to be a language learning student and therefore a better understanding of my students’ learning needs. I am passionate about enhancing my students’ learning and continue to deliver a successful, engaging and fun learning experience while providing them with transferable skills, and helping them to become confident independent learners.
