About me

I have taught Russian and Italian language at Warwick University since 2013, since commencing my doctoral studies there. I completed my PhD thesis in Italian Studies (“Giovanni Raboni and the City: Tableaux Milanese”) at Warwick in 2018 under the supervision of Professor Ann Caesar. Although dedicated to an Italian poet, my thesis not only enhanced by my Russian background but also makes use of the Russian formalists’ approach, drawing links with Russian literature and Russia in general.

My 5-year degree in History, Literature, Culture of Russia and Italy undertaken at Russian State University for the Humanities qualified me to be Philologist and Lecturer. In 2012 I obtained an advanced qualification in Teaching Russian as a Foreign Language from a leading Moscow University.

My teaching experience predates the start of my PhD at Warwick University as I was already an experienced Foreign Languages teacher. Before relocating to the UK, I worked as a Lecturer in three different universities in Moscow: Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia, Russian State University for the Humanities, and additionally at the Italian Cultural Institute. While in Russia I worked also as an interpreter and professional translator.
