About

Mónica Martín-Castaño studied Translation and Interpreting at the University of Salamanca (2004-2008). During this time she was a visiting student at Ruprecht-Karls-Universität in Heidelberg, Germany (2006). In 2008 she came to Warwick to complete her MA in Translation Studies and joined the Spanish team at The Language Centre in 2011. She completed her PhD, which focuses on the translation of Disney songs from English into Spanish, in 2017.

Research interests

Creative translation; Audiovisual translation; The translation of music; Didactics of Spanish language teaching as a foreign language; Gamification in the Spanish classroom
