I enrolled at Warwick in the summer of 2015 to work on a PhD thesis provisionally entitled, 'On Barebacking: The ethical and theoretical implications of its representation in recent French literature and film', supervised by Oliver Davis and Susannah Wilson.
Before coming to Warwick I completed both a PostGraduate Diploma (PGDip) in Gender, Sexuality & Society and an MA with Distinction in Cultural & Critical Studies at Birkbeck, University of London. In 2005 I graduated from the University of Cambridge (Girton College) with a BA(Hons) in Modern & Medieval Languages (French & German).
I have one publication to date, namely a chapter entitled 'Queer Theory Does It Raw: The sociopolitical (un)intelligibility of barebackers' bodies', in Haschemi Yekani, Kilian & Michaelis, eds, Queer Futures: Reconsidering ethics, activism, and the political [Burlington & Farnham: Ashgate, 2013].
My research interests revolve around Queer theory and contemporary French literature and cinema, and extend to Marxist and post-marxian theories, psychoanalysis, biopolitics and the medical humanities, the sociology of risk, recent French philosophies of community and republicanism, and political theories of citizenship.
Additionally, I am a choral clerk at Coventry Cathedral, where I sing tenor.
