PhD title: Entertainment at Sea: From Concert Parties to the SODS Opera.
Sarah Penny is a PhD candidate at the University of Warwick and is writing her thesis on amateur performances in the Royal Navy. The working title of her thesis is ‘Entertainment at Sea: From Concert Parties to the SODS Opera’. This research is part of the AHRC funded project ‘Amateur Dramatics: Crafting Communities in Time and Space’ which collaborates with investigators from RHUL and Exeter University. Sarah received her B.A in Theatre and Performance Studies from the University of Warwick. She also received an Erasmus Mundus Scholarship for her Masters in International Performance Research which she completed with distinction at the University of Amsterdam in 2012.
