Making A Difference: Research Impact and Engagement
Friday 28th April 2017| Wolfson Research Exchange | 9:30am to 1pm
In recent years, the idea of research having impact beyond academia has become prominent. The ‘impact agenda’ is now a key factor in the working lives of UK social science researchers, including doctoral researchers. These developments are felt by some to be daunting and perhaps confusing, and by others as creating new research opportunities.
Featuring a selection of presenters, this short workshop examines the meanings and applications of impact, along with linked notions such as ‘engagement’. With the aim to clarify, contextualise, and demystify the idea of research impact, it will be highly useful to all current doctoral candidates.
