A reminder that the 12th Teaching and Learning in History Conference will take place at Lady Margaret Hall, University of Oxford from 23-25 March 2010. The closing date for the submission of proposals for papers, panels and workshops is 31st January 2010. The conference website is: http://www.historysubjectcentre.ac.uk/events/annualconference and online registration is now open.

The first History Subject Centre newsletter was published in December. Topics addressed include historic teaching spaces; assessment and feedback and the development of HumBox, an online repository for Humanities teaching materials in HE. It is now available online with hardcopies available from the address below.

The History Subject Centre and Historical Association are putting together a guidance document for publication later this year:

History in Schools
and Higher Education:

Enhancing the study of our subject and understanding the transition to HE

Spotlight

The publication will include example case studies, giving brief details of collaborations between schools and university departments or individual academics: to pass on ideas for engaging with schools and raising interest in the study of our subject.
