THE AIMS OF THIS RESEARCH GROUP ARE:

To support and encourage the development of research related activity which addresses social work and health inequalities.

Development

Originally this research development group focused on UK research and dissemination concerning social work’s contribution to tackling health inequalities. Subsequently it has focused on developing an international perspective on this issue. This is through the establishment of the Social Work and Health Inequalities Network (SWHIN), the first international network for academics addressing social work and health inequalities, co-founded in 2004 by Professor Paul Bywaters and Dr Eileen McLeod.
