Tell us a little about Filta Group

Filta Group helps businesses around the world clean or ‘filter’ the oils they use on a day to day basis in the preparation of food. Our products are naturally preserve the environment, by extending the life of cooking oil with the FiltaFry service and recycling waste oil into biodiesel with FiltaBio. This is increasingly important for customers in an age of climate change and economic stress.

How does microfiltration work?

Using a specially developed mobile micro-filtration system, oil is removed from the fryer at cooking temperature and filtered to eliminate food particles and contaminants such as carbon. After an extensive, vacuum-based clean of the fryer, the oil is returned and the fryer is operational again.

What was the project Warwick collaborated on?

Initially we wanted to know and understand what happens to allergens when filtered through our system. This led to other research which proved that using our system is a much safer and healthier option for commercial kitchens than not using it! We came to Warwick because they are local and reacted quickly to our needs and requests.

Why did Filta Group choose to partner with Warwick?

We chose Warwick because they had enough expertise to help, that they had the technology and, most importantly for us, they were able to help us find funding.

What has the partnership with Warwick achieved for Filta Group?

It has proven that our system is safe to use and does what it says it will do. It carries the badge of Warwick against it which is far better than just taking our word for it!
