CLAHRC WM would like to thank all involved with the Health and Social Care Summit, which took place on June 26th. The event was a great success, and all involved were very pleased with the quality of discussion and issues raised as research opportunities, and it was great to see the collaboration already in place across a range of academic, health and social care organisations across regions.

The Annual DPH report on childhood obesity, in which many members of CLAHRC Theme 3: Prevention and Detection were involved, has been awarded 2nd place in the 2017 Public Health Annual report competition run by the Association of Directors of Public Health.

Dr Karen Shaw is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Research Fellow to join a Marie Cure funded project to evaluate the Child and Young Person's Advance Care Plan (CYPACP); a set of resources to help families and health professionals plan ahead for a child’s deterioration, emergency events, or end-of-life. With supervision, the role holder will undertake the daily management and administration of the project. This includes interviewing families and professionals within the West Midlands and developing an online questionnaire.
