Hi and Welcome!
My name is Nataliya Tkachenko and I'm from Ukraine (Where is Ukraine?). I'm a PhD researcher at the Warwick Institute for the Science of Cities, associated with the Department of Computer Science at the University of Warwick. I also work as an Academic Technologist at the Centre for Interdisciplinary Methodologies, where I assist to teaching of the MA Digital Media & Culture and MSc in Urban Informatics & Analytics.
My research interests lie at the intersection of social, environmental and computer sciences. And my project evolves around the problem of instrumentalisation of affective information in Smart Cities: notably I'm looking at how well we can identify locations at risk of flooding, using multimodal Web data sources. Another strand of my research is linked to the exploration of the potential for underground living spaces, using techniques of computational perception and cognition.
