I graduated from Cardiff University with an Upper Second Class MPhys Physics degree in 2015. Whilst in my undergraduate studies I became more interested in the general field of Condensed Matter Physics. My two undergraduate projects, second year summer placement and key modules in my third year helped solidify this. I came across Oliver Williams’ research and I immediately became very interested in Nanodiamond. I decided to apply for the CDT as a result. The CDT seemed like a great choice for me because the MSc year will provide me with valuable experience and great opportunities via networking with some of the top people in their fields. I shall return to Cardiff University to start a PhD under Professor Oliver Williams and shall be working on MEMS (Microelectromechanical Systems) research.
PhD Title: Nanodiamond for Micro-electro-mechanical Systems (MEMS)
PhD Supervisor: Prof. Oliver Williams
