My undergraduate study was based at Aberystwyth University, and in 2016 I graduated with a First Class MSc in Physics. During the summer of 2015 I conducted a research project for an optics company, and became very interested in applying for a PhD. After conducting a BSc project on Raman Spectroscopy of Diamond, and researching diamond during my summer project, I came to the conclusion that a diamond based PhD was an exciting option. The DST CDT provided an intriguing prospect of the MSc, and a host of interesting projects to choose from for a PhD. Aberystwyth's specialty in Hyper-spectral Imaging allowed me to conduct a very interesting and useful Masters project, which helped lead to my PhD project at Imperial College London. This MSc will provide a sound basis for my PhD at Imperial and I cannot wait to start!

PhD Title: Multidimensional Imaging and Spectroscopy of Diamond
PhD Supervisor: Prof Paul French/Dr Chris Dunsby
Institution: Imperial College London
