Honorary Professor receives prestigious award

The School of Engineering is delighted to announce that Professor Blake Wilson, honorary professor at Warwick, has been awarded the Laskey-DeBakey Clinical Medical Award with his team, for the 'Development of the modern cochlear implant - a device that bestows hearing to individuals with profound deafness'. The award, given by the Lasker Foundation, is an acclaimation of Prof Wilson's work on modern cochlear implants.

Prof. Wilson is Co-Director of the Duke Hearing Center at Duke University Medical Center in the USA, and he works with international partners across Europe. Many recipients of awards from the foundation go on to win Nobel Prize awards: find out more by visiting www.laskerfoundation.org.
