21 October 2017, the Second Global Clinical Engineering Day #GlobalCEDay

The 21st of October 2017, the world celebrates the Clinical Engineering with the II Global Clinical Engineering Day (#GlobalCEDay)!

For the second year in a row, the University of Warwick has contributed to this important event.

Last year, Prof Dan Clark and Dr Leandro Pecchia organized a talk here in Warwick, which was broadcasted worldwide during the 1st #GlobalCEDay.

This year, Dr Leandro Pecchia participated with a short talk title “Bridging the gap between HTA and Clinical Engineering”.The 21st of October 2017, the world celebrates the Clinical Engineering with the II Global Clinical Engineering Day (#GlobalCEDay)!

International Clinical Engineering and Health Technology Congress (ICEHTMC2017)

Dr Pecchia invited talk titled "Adverse events: the importance of medical devices and medical location design and assessment in real contexts", ICEHTM, Brazil 22 September 2017, International Clinical Engineering and Helath Technology Management Conference (ICEHTMC2017), Sao Paulo, Brazil.

ICEHTM2017, was organised by WHO PAHO and the Brazilian society of clinical enginering.

Our research was showcased in the European Medical and Biological Engineering Conference 2017

Recent research results from our lab were showcased in the European Medical and Biological Engineering Conference 2017 (EMBEC’17), which took place from 11th to 15th June in Tampere, Finland.

Rossana Castaldo among the best 10 finalist for the IFMBE Young Investigator Competition at the EMBEC’17 & NBC’17 conference

Rossana Castaldo, current member of the Applied Biomedical Signal Processing and Intelligent eHealth Lab at the University of Warwick, was awarded a merit award for being selected among the best 10 papers presented at the Young Investigator Competition at the EMBEC’17 & NBC’17 conference held in Tampere, Finland this June. Rossana was shortlisted among 700 papers submitted, for her manuscript titled “To What Extent Can We Shorten HRV Analysis in Wearable Sensing? A Case Study on Mental Stress Detection”.

The study on mental Stress Detection using ultra-short HRV analysis awarded at the University College London

Miss Rossana Castaldo, currently doing her PhD in biomedical signal processing and machine learning, has been awarded for her work on mental stress detection using ultra-short HRV analysis. She presented a poster on how mental stress can be detected in healthy subjects using only 1 min HRV features.

She was awarded by the ABTA Doctoral Researcher Awards the 20th May at the University College London.
