Background

Yasaman obtained her BSc degree from Ferdowsi University of Mashhad in Iran in 2006. She then went on to study at the University of Manchester for an MSc in Microwave and Communication Engineering, which she completed in 2008. Yasaman then continued her studies in the Microelectronics and Nanostructures group at the University of Manchester, studying for a PhD in terahertz semiconductor nanodevices. Her PhD research was on room-temperature, low-power consumption THz detectors and emitters. During her PhD, she was involved in fabrication and characterisation of III-V semiconductor nanodiodes for terahertz frequencies.

Yasaman joined the Quantum Devices group at Warwick in 2015 with an interest in fabrication and process engineering for narrow bandgap materials. She is working on improving fabrication process for InSb LEDs and photodiodes.

Research Interests

  • Ultra-high frequency, low-power consumption electronics
  • Narrow bandgap semiconductors
  • Mid-IR LEDs and photodetectors
