Claire Lucas is Principal Teaching Fellow for Systems and Information Engineering at the University of Warwick. As the Discipline Degree Leader she is responsible for curriculum, accreditation and assessment. She is also a fellow of the Warwick Higher Education Academy.
From my PhD work modelling autoregulation of the cerebral vasculature to my time in industry modelling everything from system interactions to satisfaction drivers and 'robust business'; I have applied a consistent engineering science methodology to increase understanding and equip people with tools for investigation. Working from an integrated school perspective allows us to utilise common approaches to solve a wide variety of real-world problems.
I have a particular teaching interest in engineering mathematics, systems engineering frameworks (such as model based product engineering) and automotive and physiological systems.
As part of the Engineering Education Research Group I am particularly focussed on the application of quality engineering principles to monitoring and improving the educational experience for our students. Please see my Teaching Philosphy Statement below.
