Prof Rebrov chairs the 2016 Smart Biorefinery workshop
This workshop was devoted to the recent achievements and challenges in bio and chemical transformation of biomass towards useful chemicals and fuels. The workshop was organised within the Warwick-Monash alliance and included keynote lectures and oral presentations from academics from the UK and Australia. The main aim of the workshop was to provide a platform for the multidisciplinary exchange of knowledge and expertise in the area of biorefinery and to foster international collaborations between leading specialists in the UK and Australia. The workshop was chaired by Prof Evgeny Rebrov
Professor Rebrov has been appointed Visiting Research Professor at the Laboratory for Biotechnology and Chemistry of Tver State Technical University
The Tver State Technical University is one of the largest scientific and educational centers in the norht-west of Russia. Today it is one of the leading centres for catalysis research & teaching. Professor Neill will pursue a research agenda with a focus on the synthesis of fine chemicals and fuels from biofeedstock.
The European Research Council has awarded Professor Evgeny Rebrov an ERC Proof of Concept Grant to commercialise his research in catalytic coating technology
In 2010, Professor Rebrov was awarded an ERC Starting Grant. This ERC grant was focused on the development of advanced composite magnetic materials to be applied for efficient and fast heating using radiofrequency field and for improvement of mass transfer in laminar flow via magnetic actuation. A novel coating method has also been developed in the ERC project. Professor Rebrov has now received an additional grant of €150,000 to conduct market research for the coating method. In this PoC project, the research team led by Professor Rebrov will use this coating method to develop a platform for small-scale distributed synthesis of fine chemicals. The commercial potential of the new reactor concept will be explored. By commercialising the device, this project will facilitate small-scale production of fine chemicals and pharmaceuticals via environmentally benign catalytic routes.
Evgeny Rebrov serves as a UK representative in the management board of the COST targeted network sci-GENERATION.
Sci-GENERATION is a new COST initiative that aims at elaborating contemporary scientific thought and thereby disseminating a new Spirit of Research and Innovation in Europe. These aims will be developed though the creation of a bottom-up and pan-European platform for young outstanding European next generation researchers in order to share and transmit their visions on emergent research paths and research policy as well as their respective experience and ideas.
Evgeny Rebrov has been elected Member of the Young Academy of Europe.
The Young Academy of Europe, is a pan-European initiative of top young researchers in their fields, designed to create a platform for academic networking, scientific exchange, and science policy.
