Cavitation and cavitation erosion; medical/biomedical application of cavitation (human stone crushing, protein folding); hydro power; turbines and pumps; transient flows and their numerical simulations; renewable energy; noval wind turbines and ocean turbines; hydrofoil sailing.

李胜才,教授,博士。现任英国华威大学流体动力研究中心首席研究员, 指导博士后、博士生和硕士生共十余人从事空化研究。他在EPSRC(英国工程与自然研究理事会)资助下自行设计、建设成一套新型空化试验装置,于2004年投入使用。目前正在验证他提出来的空泡与边壁相互作用的马尔科夫随机模型和空化与沙粒耦合作用模型。他从事水轮机空蚀与机理研究40年,在空泡机理和抗空蚀水轮机的研究方面做出了开拓性的工作。

目前主要作两方面的研究

水轮机空化与基理: 包括含沙水流空化、空泡与边界相互作用和空化共振等现象。

生物、医学中的空化问题: 如空化碎(胆、肾和膀胱)结石、空化输送基因/药物冶疗疑难病症(癌、心肌梗等)、快速微混合流研究蛋白质折叠过程的缺陷(导致巴金氏病和老年痴呆症等)。

由他主编的 ’Cavitation of HydraulicMachinery’(水力机械空化)一书于2001年出版以来获得了国际同行的广泛认同,巳十余次被国际一级刊物的综述和评论文章引用并经常被指定为国际讲学班的参考书。

由他主持的国际空化学术会议: WIMRC CAV FORUM (2006, 2008 and 2011) 已成为主要的国际空化论坛,2014年的会议入选为英国皇家学会的Theo Murphy International Scientific Meeting 于2014年11月4日至5日在伦敦皇家学会举办。见皇家学会 Interface Focus 5(5),2015 'Amazing (cavitation) bubbles: Great Potentials & Challenges'.
