Project Overview: A fully funded PhD studentship is available to work on condition monitoring of power electronic converters in offshore wind turbines. The study will develop and implement practical techniques for condition monitoring based on fundamental research carried out in recent years in the group and will extend to include the complex operating conditions of offshore wind. The student will have the opportunity to work with leading companies in the wind industry, as well as being part of a strong and dynamic power electronics research group at Warwick University.

Eligibility: UK or EU candidates with a 1st or 2.1 UK Honours degree in either of the subjects: electrical engineering, electronics, applied physics or maths is desirable. We are looking for confident, self-motivated candidates with good interpersonal skills, and abilities to perform excellent research leading to high quality research outcomes and publications.
Funding: The studentship covers 100% tuition fees at the UK/EU rate and standard stipend circa £14,254.
